My daughter and I were reading a book from Dr. Seuss and she came up with the idea of creating this fun and easy Thing one and Thing two bookmark! As you know The Cat in the Hat is a classic reader for every child.
These adorable bookmarks keep my daughter wanting to read more and more and I think it’s because she wants to place the Thing 1 and 2 bookmarks on top of the pages she is reading.

Instructions for Thing 1 and Thing 2 Bookmark
Step 1:
Select blue, red and white craft papers for the Thing 1 and Thing 2 papercraft bookmarks. Trace the 2 hair patterns on blue paper and trace the legs, arms and body shapes on red paper. Trace the head and round shape (number label) on white paper. Cut out the traced patterns using scissors.
Step -2:
Stick the small hair cutout on the large hair cutout by matching them along the straight ends. Use a black sharpie to write down ‘Thing 1’ or ‘Thing 2’ on the round paper. Attach the number label on the body cutout.
Step – 3:
Stick the head on the hair cutout and attach the leg cutouts on the bottom side of the body cutout. Stick the hand cutouts on both sides of the body cutout. Use a black sharpie to write down ‘Thing 1’ and ‘Thing 2’ on the round shaped paper.
Step – 4:
Stick the hand cutouts on both sides of the body cutout. Make sure to keep the hands downwards and somewhat aligned with the body pattern.
Step – 5:
Attach the head pattern on the top side of the body pattern.
Step – 6:
Use a sharpie to draw the face of the Thing 1 and Thing 2 papercraft puppet.
Step – 7
Slide a page under the arms of the papercraft Thing puppet to use it as a bookmark.
