Do you also have so much on your plate at the moment? Running around after the kids, doing science projects and trying to figure out the square root of 85.
But, it doesn’t have to be that way for you. The great news is that you can reduce your workload with the best mommy apps for a simpler life.
Simplicity In Your Hand
Simplicity is something you crave, yet the complex nature of mummy life makes it hard to find. Do you feel like this in the morning too?
Actually, I chose these apps for simplicity and to save you a bunch of time. So whether you are a new mummy or a mummy with tenure, you are sure to find something amazing here.
Ready? Here they are.
Life360
Family life has extraordinary moments. There are so many strange and wonderful things happening at the same time. The kids need to go to places and see friends.
And they are also hanging out a lot more, and as a parent, you worry. It’s always top of mind you know. And I’ve found with this app, it’s helpful in that it gives a sense of freedom to the whole family.
I love this:
- Sharing of locations so you know where the hell everyone is
- Emergency notifications help keep you updated
- Get updates whenever a family member’s battery is running low.
See it at the App Store or on Google play.
This is a free app, yet there are purchases within the app if you would like to buy extra features.

Photomath
Full disclosure, I was not that great at Math in school. And my kids often need a bit of help, yet I struggle to come up with the right answers.
This app is a lifesaver because I can take a picture of my kid’s math homework. Then the app will help me solve the math problem with the steps.
It’s so quick and will get everyone’s homework done in half the time. This means more time to shoot the breeze and enjoy time with the family.
And the best benefit is that you will blow your family’s minds with your new math superpowers.
See it at the App Store or on Google Play.
This app is free to use, yet does have some features that need purchases within the app.

Artkive
How many times have your kids also come home with beautiful drawings? I’m guessing quite a few times yet it’s so hard to store and preserve them.
Often they become tattered as you leave them on the fridge or at the office. They do not look that great after a while. Well, this nifty app called Artkive is sure to help you out.
So what it does is that, once you register Artkive sends you a box.
You’re asked to put in all your kids’ masterpieces into the box and courier it over.
From here, the real magic happens.
They digitize the artworks using expert photography skills.
From here, you get the artwork images on the Artkive app.
That’s when you approve it, and Artkive prints and sends everything back to you in a stunning book.
It’s amazing. And now you have a book of artworks that you can keep for years to come. Imagine looking through these books at family events. Such beautiful memories.
The app is only available in the App Store at the moment.
But you can access the same features on the website. The cost is $39 for the box and of course, there are further costs based on how many artworks you send. This will cost quite a bit and you should consider this.

Mush
If you are like most mummies, finding time to take it easy is rather challenging.
And when you do chill, the likelihood of one of your kids fighting with the other is kinda high.
That’s a great reason to get this great tool called Mush which helps you meet with other mummies to talk it out.
It’s known as the friendliest mummy app.
So it helps to bring mommies from all walks of life together. You can build a lovely circle and chat about anything.
Here’s how it works:
- The app find other mommies in your area with kids of the same age
- You can text them or meet up over a cup of coffee
- You can also do group meetups if you’d like as these show up in your app feed
- It has a forum which you can ask all the questions you may have about mum life
- There’s even a blog with tips from tenured mums
My favorite part about this app is knowing that there is a community. This connection is great and can offer valuable advice and support.
You can see it at the App Store or on Google Play.

Bubble
Yes, sometimes as mummies we live in a bit of a bubble.
But this app is not about staying in that bubble. It’s actually about finding a babysitter. You can find one that is suitable and book a babysitter.
It’s especially helpful when you need to have a date night with the hubby or need a wine night out with the girls.
The app uses a rating system to ensure you always get a top babysitter to give you peace of mind.
I thought the feature about seeing which of your friends know or have used the babysitter is awesome.
As well as being able to read other parents’ reviews, and express books if you need a babysitter in a hurry.
You can see it at the App Store or on Google Play.

Picniic
Picniic adds a level of organization to your family life that will leave you amazed.
I love how it helps with family activities, tasks, and information. And, it’s a place you can store everything your family needs. You can even meal plan in the app and check if everyone agrees with the plan.
I’m not surprised it’s named as one of the 50 best apps of the year by Time Magazine.
As with other apps, you can share locations. But it also has custom places that help you keep track of the whole family. So, if you have a big family, it helps!
Here are some cool ways to use it:
- Shared calendars help you plan the next family event.
- You can store medical and household info
- You get to pause and schedule internet access.
- Assign tasks like chores through the app, so each family member knows what’s they need to do.
- Save online recipes or your very own recipes.
See it at the App Store or on Google Play.

Talkspace
Therapy is expensive, and in many instances, your family may need a few sessions. The app enlists expert professional therapists who provide counseling and at pre-booked times.
It’s online therapy for the whole family.
You can do so via a message service or a video call. All you need is to book an assessment and the app matches you with a suitable therapist.
You could have your therapist in your back pocket.
And, there’s also Talkpsace for teens. It’s great to have an outside perspective for your growing teens.
See it at the App Store or on Google Play.

Signup Genius
This is one of the best apps for mummies involved in school activities or volunteer groups.
Pretty much it helps you get all your event sign-ups done in one place.
And that’s great because you can remind people through the app to signup and arrange payments via the app.
Great for fundraisers, getting volunteers or even for sports games.
See it at the App Store or on Google Play.

Playground Buddy
Family travel is lovely but being in a new place tends to be scary.
And finding fun outdoor areas is always top of mind.
The kids need time to stretch their legs. And, this app can help you find safe local playgrounds based on your location.
In fact, there are about 200,000 playgrounds listed on the app.
A great tool is that you can also search for most playgrounds. It will give you a summary of the features of the place and it’s helpful to decide before you drive over.
Check it out at the App Store or Google Play
Your favorite app???
These apps were fun to learn about and use too. I hope that you found 1 or 2 that will make your life a whole lot easier. You know as mummies we always need a helping hand even if it’s from technology.
Now, it’s time to go forth and unleash your new mummy superpowers, right?

Hey! I’m Emelia from Creative Mind Habits. (www.creativemindhabits.com). My blog is focussed on helping people create something new every day.
Anything is possible for you if you have the right tools, strategies, and habits. I know how difficult it can be to stay motivated and stay creating when hundreds of deadlines are looming.
And that’s one of my main reasons for taking a gap year from my career in project and operations management. But that decision has been life-changing and along the way I’ve met some really cool people, learned some even cooler stuff like copywriting, blogging and even programming.
